Optimum, News 12, and Warner Bros. Discovery Return to Empower Local Communities with Back-to-School Backpack Program

Backpacks filled with school supplies are being distributed across communities in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut to help students gear up for the upcoming school year 

Optimum, a leading provider of fiber internet, mobile, and TV services, alongside News 12, the preeminent hyperlocal news source across the tri-state area, and Warner Bros. Discovery are once again teaming up to host back-to-school backpack programs to give students a strong start to the new school year. Now in its fourth year, this program provides thousands of backpacks filled with essential school supplies to students across the Bronx and Brooklyn, New York, Newark, New Jersey, Stamford, Connecticut, and more. 

These community-focused celebrations will benefit children aged five to 18 and feature music, refreshments, engaging activities, and support from local nonprofit and community partners, creating a fun and festive atmosphere for families.

    • Mary C Rich Club House with Boys & Girls Club of Stamford 
  • New Jersey  
    • Boys & Girls Club of Newark

  • New York  
    • Kings Theatre in Brooklyn with Church-Flatbush Community Alliance, KingCares, Madison Square Boys & Girls Club   
    • The Morrisania Revitalization Corporation in the Bronx 
    • Charles Lindbergh Blvd on Long Island with Cradle of Aviation Museum, Hempstead & Freeport School Districts   
    • West Haverstraw Elementary in Hudson Valley 
    • Feeding Westchester and Portchester Middle School in Westchester County 
    • Central Islip High School on Long Island with Central Islip School District
