Optimum Announces $1 Million Commitment Through DonorsChoose for a Fourth Year in a Row

Optimum’s funding commitment will support public school teachers, students, and classrooms across the company’s 21-state footprint

Today Optimum announces an additional commitment of $1 million through its partnership with national education nonprofit DonorsChoose to support classroom projects across its 21-state footprint throughout the 2023-2024 school year. With this commitment, the company’s to-date contribution towards classroom projects through DonorsChoose has grown to $3.8 million since the partnership was first announced in 2020.

This renewed commitment by Optimum marks the fourth consecutive year that the company is partnering with DonorsChoose to fund classroom projects in hundreds of communities that enable access to tools, technologies, and experiences to support student success. To date, the company has funded more than 10,000 classroom projects in close to 5,000 schools across the country with a focus on STEM-based projects, furthering the company’s mission to support the communities it serves by inspiring the next generation of innovators and creators.

“Optimum is proud to continue its partnership with DonorsChoose, a platform that is bringing much needed educational technologies and experiences to teachers and students across Optimum’s service area,” said Jen Ostrager, Senior Vice President of Community Affairs at Optimum. “Today’s students will be responsible for developing the new technologies and innovations that will change how we live, work, learn, are entertained, and solve problems in our everyday lives. We hope that through this additional funding, students will gain access to the tools and resources they need to support their growth and success and continue to find inspiration to expand their learning limits and push future innovation across industries.”

Optimum employees will also play a part in distributing the funds across DonorsChoose projects during the 2023 holiday season and through early 2024, allowing employees to directly impact the communities they live and work in.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Optimum once again, as their continued commitment to support communities across their footprint has helped provide essential resources for teachers and students throughout the school year,” Alix Guerrier, CEO of DonorsChoose. “Teachers are inspiring today’s students and creating and fostering a learning environment that will set them up for success in the years to come, which is why it is so critical that teachers have the tools they need to further the students’ education.”
